Jim and Cindy Powers live in Greeley, Colorado, near family and in a place where they can care for Jim’s parents in their later years. They are deeply rooted in their church community, where Jim helps lead a midweek small group Bible study and sings on the worship team.
Their business, Chains & Chapters, LLC, was born out of years of profound suffering and God’s faithfulness through it all. What began as a calling to share their story through the book Hope in the Hard Places: God’s Promises and Gifts to the Suffering has grown into a multifaceted venture that combines faith-based resources with the creative, restorative work of forever jewelry and custom engraving.
Jim felt a clear nudge from the Holy Spirit to write after walking through some of the hardest seasons a marriage can face. Through trauma, addiction, medical crises, and relational pain, he and Cindy remained faithful to God and one another. The book emerged as an honest testimony of God’s presence in the darkness—His promises that sustain and the gifts that restore. Jim writes with humility and hope, desiring that other couples and individuals in seasons of suffering would find encouragement, endurance, and the assurance that hope awaits on the other side.
Cindy’s journey through deep personal suffering led her to a renewed outward focus and a profound compassion for others who are hurting. Her experiences shaped a calling to offer tangible expressions of beauty, dignity, and hope—first through the book and now through the art of forever jewelry. Creating custom-fit bracelets, anklets, and necklaces allows her to walk alongside people in a personal, celebratory way. Many pieces can be engraved with meaningful words, dates, or symbols—turning jewelry into lasting reminders of transformation, breakthrough, and God’s redeeming work. Jim’s laser engraving capabilities extend beyond jewelry to mugs, bottles, leather, acrylic signs, QR codes, and more, making every item a unique keepsake.
Together, Jim and Cindy launched Chains & Chapters to bridge their two callings: sharing stories of hope through their writing and creating beautiful, forever pieces that celebrate life’s chapters and break chains of the past. Whether through their book, small group Bible studies, engraved jewelry, pop-up events, or private parties, they invite others into a space where suffering meets redemption, pain gives way to purpose, and every chapter points to the God who makes beauty from ashes.
